17 year-old Chicken Wings goalkeeper Mak Teck How moved to Romanian Division Six side FC Drojdierii Hartagani for a sum of S$124 000, as Grilled's youth professional keeper alumni keeps on growing.
A total of seven teams including xanoumia (Greek Division Six), Corrida Toys (Czech Division Six), F.C. Gomboretii (Romanian Division Eight), Manchester United KK (Danish Division Eight), Química AR (Argentinean Division Nine), FSV Bosna 1989 (German Division Ten) were in for the assured shot-stopper, with Corrida Toys and Química AR especially persistent, but Mak was won over by the 50000-seater stadium of Drojdierii.
"As a player, you want to be watched, and attendances at Droj are just much higher than what the other sides could offer. That tipped it since the salary packages were quite consistent."
Mak wasn't concerned by his new club's slide down their league table, which will see them relegated. "They have shown great ambition by signing three other million-dollar players today, and I am sure that we will be back in this division in no time."
