Meng Three Quarter Million
After a long lull in Grilled's youth production lines, 17 year-old striking prodigy Meng Enjiang burst onto the scene and soon commanded a S$750000 transfer fee from Portugal Division Four club, URM. Feted as possibly the "most complete U-18 striker Grilled has ever seen", Meng combines striking prowess with an eye for the killer pass, is strong in the air, and can spend time in midfield to boot. Truly, the complete package.
Grilled's youth coaches were unanimous in their belief that had Meng been discovered a few months earlier, he would have been a lock to represent Singapore at the U-20 level eventually. As it was, Meng still attracted plenty of interest, from such diverse clubs as local sides Tele Fone FC and richlyeng rangers, Austrian Division Six side 1.FC Annenheim, Italian Division Eight side real socca, Romanian Division Five side FC STM 2004 and Canadian Division Four club Ace Porno Express.
Meng has yet to be assigned a squad number at URM, but anticipates pulling on their yellow jersey with pride.
