Au Revoir, Teoh
19 year-old winger Teoh Keng Li was lured to join the French Revolution at Division Seven Marseille club Soliteam, for the sum of S$68 000. The newly-formed side had just invited five other players to buff up their squad, chief among them Humberto Rodríguez of Argentina.
Teoh will be on a part-study programme, adequately funded with his S$1700-a-week salary. That was what clinched the deal for Teoh, who had received offers from as many as thirteen other teams.
De Boerûh (Dutch Division Eight), FK ALKOSI (Serbian Division Six), Schalke2003 (German Division Nine), Montaltino (Italian Division Nine), Bouwlamp FC (Dutch Division Nine), Breogan06 (Spanish Division Nine), uma hortaleza (Spanish Division Eight), FC Hauki United (Finnish Division Seven), and of course Soliteam, had extended feelers from the outset.
Van Hoek United (Dutch Division Eight), pLaSTiC (Italian Division Eight), Forza Pescara (Italian Division Nine), FC Babel Kreuzberg (German Division Nine) and Plavi voz (Bosnian Division Five) all tried last-minute bids, but by then Teoh was already set.
