18 year-old defensive midfielder Sng Chun Long and 17 year-old fullback/forward Neo Eng Chi left for greener pastures on free transfers after being told playing time would be scarce in the reserves.
Sng, who chose Australian Division Six side cricket arsenal over Swedish Division Seven outfit Veni vidi vici vvv, reportedly influenced Neo to join him abroad. The pacy destroyer impressed more than one Grilled scout with his enterprise in defence, but his cluelessness in going forward scuppered any hope Sng had of making the breakthrough with Grilled.
Neo, who has had some success both at leftback and as a wide striker in Grilled's youth teams, found an apprenticeship with Israeli Division Seven side Orital 231. He was outstanding at neither position, though, and while such versatility is not needed here at present, it may prove invaluable to other clubs on a budget.
