SCC Enlistment
Grilled may yet add a cup trophy to their collection this season, as their early exit freed them up for the Singapore Community Cup, the premier local team initiative. Already into its fifth edition, it is the only major Singaporean title other than the S-League championship that Grilled have yet to garner.
Grilled were quickly approached by 2nd and 4th edition winners Team Geylang, which as its name suggests is dominated by some of the best teams from the Geylang area, including Joker 9 and Carpmael Rovers. They however have a tradition of adding an S-League club to their ranks, and both Herron and Titus Titanium IV have won the SCC with them.
"This season may not end up a total letdown after all," Grilled follower Abdul Zainal, 19, grinned. "Actually, if we had gone a couple of rounds further and then get knocked out, we would probably be left with nothing to compete in. The SCC has a prestige of its own, and I would be happy if Grilled could add it to their cabinet."
