Ítrottarfelag 5 - 1 Grilled

69 punters turned up at Sandplenin í Søldarfirði, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Slávek Šenkyøík was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gabriël Kleijn and Bruno Tatran. Ítrottarfelag had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Veiguela - Tuomainen, úr Dímun, Faber - Veraguth, de Rijk, Oester, Uddmar - Hedstedt, Syväniemi, Zabaleta.

Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Bao-Tam - bin Che Lah, Siu-Cheung, Seng-Huat - Swee Pheng, Jie Siong, Abd Hamid, Borup, Seng-kar - Hjortlind, Hobson.

Ítrottarfelag's Fabrizio Veraguth was shown a yellow card after 10 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The crowd groaned its disapproval when Olle Uddmar missed a free kick that would have given Ítrottarfelag the lead after 17 minutes. The left side created an opportunity for the visitors 25 minutes into the match, and Bukhari Abd Hamid wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. After 35 minutes of play, Aaro Tuomainen equalised for Ítrottarfelag after an elegant attack from the right. Chema Zabaleta's name was chanted throughout the stadium after his goal up the middle after 37 minutes gave Ítrottarfelag the 2 - 1 lead. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Ítrottarfelag held the ball, with a clear 74 percent of possession.

Ítrottarfelag put themselves up 3 - 1 when Ed de Rijk broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. Ítrottarfelag's Pelle Faber had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 56 minutes having been played. Jógvan Jákup Jákupson was the replacement. After 58 minutes, a long pass from Ítrottarfelag's Jógvan Jákup Jákupson caught the defence out of position. Chema Zabaleta collected the ball, and with the goal at his mercy calmly rolled the ball just inside the post. 4 - 1. Chema Zabaleta gave Ítrottarfelag supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 5 - 1 after 67 minutes, following a good exchange of passes on the right that the away team failed to deal with. That made three goals for Chema Zabaleta and he was marked down for the hat trick. After this, Ítrottarfelag lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. The referee showed Grilled's Weng Seng-Huat the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After an industrious effort down the middle, Ville Syväniemi could have closed the game off after 75 minutes, but his finishing shot hit the post. This half belonged to Ítrottarfelag, who controlled the ball 83 percent of the time.

Most important Ítrottarfelag player was August Oester. However, Jógvan Páll úr Dímun made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's top performer was clearly Terkel Borup. Tim Hobson" alt="Tim Hobson">Tim Hobson was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 1.
