Eagles 1 - 9 Grilled

000 punters turned up at Eagle's Panaroma, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Arvo Suntio was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Erling Jakobsen and Bob Grønkjær. Eagles tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Kleuken - Pin Su, Yeow Shi, Guang Tian - Kurmanovich, bin Raja Abdullah, Olaru, Pang Ge, Eng Hin - Pirruccio, Wen Guang.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Grilled. The following players had been chosen: Bao-Tam - Alcántara, Fredgård, Bona - Abd Hamid, Borup, Jie Siong, Spirig, Swee Pheng - Hjortlind, Kadak.

Eagles used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Eagles took the lead 2 minutes into the game by 1 to 0, as Asmawi bin Raja Abdullah elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Grilled levelled the score after 15 minutes to make it 1 - 1, as Jaan Kadak struck home after a fine midfield combination through the middle, leaving him completely unmarked. 1 - 2 was the score with 17 minutes played, after Grilled's Lee Jie Siong cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal. The visitors' Jaan Kadak took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 32 minutes into the match. 1 - 3 for Grilled. The referee showed Eagles's Pang Eng Hin the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. It was 1 - 3 at the break. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 72 percent.

The referee signalled a penalty 50 minutes into the game following an offence just inside of the box. Luis Alcántara knocked home the 1 - 4 goal just outside the reach of the goalkeeper. Terkel Borup increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 1 - 5. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. The home crowd was not impressed when Anders Fredgård came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 56 minutes. Grilled were now up 1 - 6. Jaan Kadak tipped the corner kick right to the keeper, who mishandled it, giving Grilled's Lee Jie Siong a chance to knock it in for 1-7. Grilled increased the lead to 1 - 8 as Luis Alcántara scored from the penalty spot, putting the ball in near the top left corner. Some fine manoeuvring on the left led to a Grilled goal after 81 minutes, making it 1 - 9. Qiu Swee Pheng was noted down as the scorer. Eagles will have to do without Gianmaria Pirruccio for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 86 minute mark. He was substituted by Ye Koi Yu. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 83 percent of possession.

Kok Yeow Shi performed admirably for Eagles. Ye Koi Yu was a disappointment, however. Anders Fredgård performed admirably for Grilled. Qiu Swee Pheng was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 9.
