A series of fine plays up the middle should have led to a goal for Grilled, but Hidde van Liere's shot went over the bar. Grilled's Hidde van Liere seemed to stun everyone on the field with an accurate shot that seemed to come from nowhere. Somehow, the keeper managed to keep his cool and made a fantastic save. Ahmed Abed-Sulaiman got a fingertip on Shu Chit-Fu's shot from the left 37 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Herron's Barthélémy Boulant a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 38 minutes into the game. Grilled put pressure on the visitors' central defence 40 minutes into the game, but Ola Martinsson couldn't find an opening. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

After 58 minutes of play, Shen Kek-Tjiang equalised for Grilled after an elegant attack from the right. Richard Ashton was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a Herron counterattack from the left after 64 minutes. His neat finish made the score 1 - 2. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

Most important Grilled player was Shen Kek-Tjiang. However, Jaan Kadak made a disastrous appearance. Abd Rauf Mohd Nadzir performed admirably for Herron. Gábor Pető turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
