Shadow 3 - 0 Grilled
148 spectators arrived at Kel Sirlin, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
David Deient was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jérémy Quillevère and
Matias Hatunen. Shadow started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. Lineup: Billgren - Bhardwaj, Eric, Young-chul - Lien-Ying, Raskborg, Jansson, Long - Hsien-Feng, Lan-Phuong, Yew-Tong.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Bao-Tam - Alcántara, Tuan-Mu, Dewilde - Dai-Lin, Ju-Hau, Stanton, Kek-Tjiang, Noor Yadah - Hjortlind, Stern.
They were singing the praises of
Loh Yew-Tong 11 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from just outside the centre part of the opponent's penalty area found its way over the visitors keeper to make the score 1 - 0 for Shadow. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Shadow's
Huan Lan-Phuong putting the lead up to 2 - 0. 30 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Ming Hsien-Feng dashed through, knocking home 3 - 0 for Shadow. By now, Shadow were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. After 31 minutes Grilled's
Luis Alcántara limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. Shadow claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
Grilled kept trying to force their way through on the right side and
Ulf Hjortlind got his chance after 51 minutes, but the home side's defence held their position and stopped the attack. The bicycle kick from
Loh Yew-Tong would have been the Goal of the Year for Shadow, had it not hit the post. Shadow held the ball, with a clear 55 percent of possession.
The most dominating Shadow player was without a doubt
Stefan Raskborg. However,
Cao Long made a disastrous appearance. Most important Grilled player was
Asher Stanton.
Joe Stern was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
