BlueNite 3 - 1 Grilled
ouds darkened the skies at St Anfort as 53170 spectators turned up for the match.
Sandro Baldi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Chen Yu-Hui and
Gard Larsen. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for BlueNite. Lineup: bin Abdul Hamid - Zhi-Peng, Ho-kuen, Minh-Duy - Iren, Yeng Eng, Mårtensson, Yi-Ping, Norrmo - bin Rasdi, Moana.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Abed-Sulaiman - Fredgård, Kek-Tjiang, Zywczyn - van Liere, Han Kok, Rottman, Paullin, Spirig - Kadak, Martinsson.
BlueNite immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents. Grilled's
Dani Spirig showed off his trademark ability to do the unexpected with a tricky pass after 7 minutes. Unfortunately,
Hidde van Liere was startled by the play and wasn't able to control the finish. They were singing the praises of
Liu Yi-Ping 13 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from just outside the centre part of the opponent's penalty area found its way over the visitors keeper to make the score 1 - 0 for BlueNite. With 29 minutes played, the visitors almost levelled the score.
Sylweriusz Zywczyn shot a hard curved free kick, striking the post.
Dani Spirig of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. BlueNite's
Giuseppe Moana was delighted to score the 2 - 0 goal after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing after 37 minutes. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 58 percent of possession.
The visitors replied 60 minutes into the game, scoring the 2 - 1 goal, as
Quah Han Kok dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. With 83 minutes played, the visitors could have scored the tying goal after
Dani Spirig came through the middle, but his kick went wide. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased BlueNite's lead to 3 - 1 as
Suhaimi bin Rasdi finished it off competently, firing from an acute angle. Confident in their lead, BlueNite decided to play a more defensive game at this point. After an industrious effort down the middle,
Peter Norrmo could have closed the game off after 89 minutes, but his finishing shot hit the post. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
Most important BlueNite player was
Mohd bin Abdul Hamid.
Yang Zhi-Peng turned in a dismal performance, however. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Quah Han Kok. However,
Dani Spirig made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 1.
