Grilled 7 - 1 Apostate

e 3021 spectators at Gamma Stadium were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Martijn Bartek was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Christian Thorstensson and Tullio Zoni. Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Huel-sheng - bin Che Lah, Tuan-Mu, Siu-Cheung - Seng-kar, Stanton, Yew-Hoe, Kek-Tjiang, Magnusson - Attimarad, Reed.

Apostate had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: bin Ahmad Mokshinon - bin Musa, Chiah-Jen, Chun-Yuyn, Blomander - Chhong, Tuong, bin Raja Hassan, Ngoc-Thanh - Chun-Sing, Chung-Hui.

After 21 minutes of play, Lan Tuan-Mu gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. Svarpati Attimarad increased Grilled's lead to 2 - 0, putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. Man, what a shot by Apostate's Hu Chhong! Firing in from 35 yards after 32 minutes, that is probably going to be one of the finest, most beautiful, wonderfully crafted strikes the crowd here today are ever likely to see. 2 - 1. 38 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Shen Kek-Tjiang dashed through, knocking home 3 - 1 for Grilled. Grilled put themselves up 4 - 1 when Svarpati Attimarad broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. Shen Kek-Tjiang received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 39 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. After 45 minutes, Asher Stanton put Grilled ahead 5 - 1 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. The teams went for the halftime break at 5 - 1. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 82 percent.

The home side's Miguel Reed curled a free kick home after 60 minutes, putting Grilled ahead 6 - 1. After 72 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Svarpati Attimarad might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Azrul Hisyam bin Ahmad Mokshinon made a spectacular save. Svarpati Attimarad increased Grilled's lead to 7 - 1, putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. At that, Svarpati Attimarad was noted down for a hat trick. After 82 minutes Apostate's Zhou Ngoc-Thanh limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. The referee showed Apostate's Mai Chiah-Jen the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 87 percent of possession.

Most important Grilled player was Lan Tuan-Mu. Svarpati Attimarad was a disappointment, however. Apostate's best player was Harizul Izuan bin Musa. Weng Chung-Hui was a disappointment, however. The match ends 7 - 1.
