Athletic 3 - 2 Grilled

e 3611 spectators at Lack Of Athletic FC Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Christophe Depré was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gary Daniels and Marcin Sieńko. Athletic had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Ryan - Sommarstedt, Stephenson, Chabot - Snape, Barnbrook, Harding, Dülken, Landow - San, Langford.

Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Semprún Balenciaga - bin Che Lah, Tuan-Mu, Siu-Cheung - Seng-kar, Ju-Hau, Yew-Hoe, Stanton, Magnusson - Reed, Hobson.

Chai Yew-Hoe received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 20 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. The terraces were silenced after 23 minutes when Grilled's Tim Hobson" alt="Tim Hobson">Tim Hobson put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. Athletic's Francis Langford got himself booked for a foul. With 30 minutes having been played, Athletic's Billy Landow made a rush down the left, leaving him free to put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. Athletic took the lead, 2 - 1, after a penalty 35 minutes into the match. Francis Langford scored from the penalty spot. Athletic put themselves up 3 - 1 when Jon Stephenson broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. The referee showed Grilled's Miguel Reed the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The player down was Adrian Dülken. The Athletic bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. Halftime score was 3 - 1. Athletic held the ball, with a clear 51 percent of possession.

With 51 minutes played, Miguel Reed had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. 59 minutes in, Athletic's Cliff Barnbrook received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Grilled were forced to a substitution as Kau Siu-Cheung couldn't continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing Johan Dewilde to come in from the sidelines. The incalculable Asher Stanton of Grilled did everything right as he set up Tim Hobson" alt="Tim Hobson">Tim Hobson for a goal after 66 minutes. Unfortunately, the strike missed its target. Grilled's Tim Hobson" alt="Tim Hobson">Tim Hobson got himself booked for a foul. Grilled reduced the score after 79 minutes to 3 - 2 as Tim Hobson" alt="Tim Hobson">Tim Hobson easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right. Lan Tuan-Mu made several blunders at the end of the game, causing a good deal of unrest in the defensive line. After 88 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Daniel San might have resulted in another goal for Athletic. However, Tomás Semprún Balenciaga made a spectacular save. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Athletic, with an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.

The most dominating Athletic player was without a doubt Cliff Barnbrook. Stephen Harding was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Lan Tuan-Mu. However, Tomás Semprún Balenciaga made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 2.
