United 4 - 6 Grilled

500 punters turned up at The Olos United Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Alessandro Grasedyck was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ivans Golts and Zsolt Valkay. United started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Avexy - Shi-An, Roma de Melo, Kautonen - Scheider, Krześniak, Quang-Vinh, Signol, Hargreaves - Kwan-Woo, Seer-Hou.

Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Harlow - Tuan-Mu, Bona, Pakpao - Dai-Lin, Paullin, Han Kok, Spirig, Olaru - Martinsson, Langeland.

United were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. Dani Spirig came close to putting the visiting team one up 29 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but Jean-Louis Avexy managed to tip the ball to a corner. 32 minutes into the game, Cai Shi-An had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Xavier Jacquelin. Chen Kwan-Woo hit the ball perfectly after 32 minutes to score for United with a fabulous long shot. 1 - 0. United put themselves up 2 - 0 when Ruedi Scheider broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. Ater 36 minutes Jan Langeland seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored the reducer for Grilled making it 2 - 1. With 40 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, Dani Spirig needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. Grilled levelled the score after 43 minutes to make it 2 - 2, as Lan Tuan-Mu struck home after a fine midfield combination through the middle, leaving him completely unmarked. 44 minutes into the match and the home team took a 3 - 2 lead after breaking through on the left. Scorer for United was Chen Kwan-Woo. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 2. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 64 percent possession of the ball.

50 minutes into the game Grilled's Lorenz Paullin found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 3 - 3. 57 minutes in, Grilled's Dani Spirig received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Grilled's 3 - 4 goal came on a questionable penalty, but Ola Martinsson struck that one home without a second thought. With a shot floated in from just outside the penalty area after 70 minutes played, Chen Kwan-Woo of United evened the score to 4 - 4. By then Chen Kwan-Woo was a three time scorer - a hat trick! Grilled took the lead after 76 minutes with 4 - 5. Dani Spirig placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. The away team's Jan Langeland took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 78 minutes which increased Grilled's lead to 4 - 6. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

United's best player was Ruedi Scheider. However, Liam Hargreaves made a disastrous appearance. Most important Grilled player was Jan Langeland. Dragos Olaru on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 6.
