Europäer 3 - 4 Grilled

35 spectators arrived at Eurodom, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Stoisław Tatarski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ladislav Šopík and Janosch Findeisen. Europäer had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Schröders - Kazanovs, Sulen, bin Kunju Mohamad - O'Healihy, Schmidt, Sennett, Hoogendijk, Jordan - Pollo, Schulz.

Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Bao-Tam - Tuan-Mu, Siu-Cheung, Alcántara - Fernández Riviera, Paullin, Han Kok, Spirig, van Liere - Hjortlind, Langeland.

Grilled had a good opportunity to score the lead goal but the home team's goaltender Georg Schröders saved Dani Spirig's shot that was headed for the top corner from the right. Kau Siu-Cheung got left behind when Europäer's Paolo Pollo made a sudden pull forward after 13 minutes, finishing off with a swift strike. 1 - 0! 13 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 1 - 1 as Jan Langeland struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. Paolo Pollo gave Europäer the lead with 2 - 1, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the keeper's right post. With 19 minutes played, Europäer's Ingo Sennett fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee booked Ingo Sennett for diving. Grilled levelled the score after 19 minutes to make it 2 - 2, as Hidde van Liere struck home after a fine midfield combination through the middle, leaving him completely unmarked. Jan Langeland of Grilled received a yellow card after 26 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Grilled's Antonio Fernández Riviera left the field after 29 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Earl Barbour. 2 - 2 was the halftime score. No one team arose to dominate this half, ending in a deadlock.

Europäer created a good opportunity to score 62 minutes into the match when Imants Kazanovs's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. 67 minutes into the game, Grilled's Dani Spirig surprised the visitors with a raking cross-field pass to Ulf Hjortlind who easily found the back of the net, bringing the score to 2 - 3. After 69 minutes, Ron Jordan got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. Europäer had to make a substitution after 70 minutes. Johannes Schulz limped off the field and was replaced by Friedrich Nadolski. After 86 minutes of game time, Ulf Hjortlind had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Georg Schröders was in the right place and tipped the ball to a corner. 88 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 2 - 4 as Jan Langeland finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. After this, Grilled lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. Europäer reduced the lead to 3 - 4 with 89 minutes on the clock when Max Hoogendijk got the best of a ball floated in from the left. Europäer claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

Most important Europäer player was Fred Schmidt. Imants Kazanovs was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Jan Langeland. However, Lan Tuan-Mu made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 4.
