Nerazzurri 1 - 5 Grilled
981 punters turned up at Xan Zero, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Dante Maris was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Xavier Biehler and
Matthys Bruinzeel. Nerazzurri had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Abelló - Tsung-Cheng, Kai-Yan, bin Abu - Chen-Yang, Hansson, Kai-Yuen, Haug, Si-Yoon - Pak-Kei, Duvwald.
Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Harlow - Pakpao, Bona, Tuan-Mu - Dai-Lin, Paullin, Spirig, Noor Yadah, Barbour - Hjortlind, Langeland.
Grilled had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 10 minutes in when
Ulf Hjortlind came up alone against
Rodrigo Abelló who managed a block. Grilled took the lead after 22 minutes with 0 - 1.
Jan Langeland placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. Nerazzurri's
Lee Si-Yoon was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
Tan Pak-Kei managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 1 - 1 after 34 minutes. After 41 minutes, Grilled's
Ulf Hjortlind made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. As
Lars Haug had, completely unprovoked, swept the legs out from under an opponent in front of a linesman, the referee gave the Nerazzurri player a red card without batting an eyelid. Some fine manoeuvring on the left led to a Grilled goal after 43 minutes, making it 1 - 3.
Ulf Hjortlind was noted down as the scorer. By now, Grilled were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. After 43 minutes Grilled's
Ulf Hjortlind limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 3. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 69 percent of possession.
After 54 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
Dani Spirig who increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 4. After the ball was lifted in from the left,
Jan Langeland was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 64 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Nerazzurri's
Li Kai-Yuen got himself booked. A misunderstanding between the visitors' keeper
Clair Harlow and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for Nerazzurri, but
Li Kai-Yuen's finish was way too lame. Grilled came close to extending their lead as
Jan Langeland delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 78 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting. 80 minutes in, Nerazzurri's
Qi Tsung-Cheng received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The visitors'
Jan Langeland took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 81 minutes into the match. 1 - 5 for Grilled. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 77 percent.
The most dominating Nerazzurri player was without a doubt
Johan Hansson.
Qi Tsung-Cheng on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Grilled player was
Jan Langeland.
Earl Barbour on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 5.
