Grilled 2 - 4 Al-Daud
359 spectators had come to The Cooking Pot this cloudy day.
Nick Niehold was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Rikard ''Tiddan'' Mörnhall and
Johan Harmans. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this
West derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Grilled decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players took the field: Dias Paes - 辉洪 (Huihong) , Lik-Tsun, Ãrva, 剑勇 (Jianyong) - Penati, Branbilla, Han Kok, è¾¾è£ (Darong) - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Al-Daud had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Frenquelli - Natalicchio, Roininen, Cantarini - Povh, Overweg, Coenegracht, Bourguignon, Gonzalez - Abregu, Davies.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Grilled. Grilled's
胡 (Hu) 辉洪 (Huihong) tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a goal after 24 minutes by
Matthias Branbilla for Grilled, putting them ahead 1 - 0.
Borut Povh made a run for the goal 27 minutes into the game but the home team's far left defence managed to sort the situation out in the end. The goal to make it 2 - 0 was scored by
Quah Han Kok after 28 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Grilled. Al-Daud managed to reduce to 2 - 1 as
Omer Bourguignon finished off a well-played combination from the left, carving through the defensive box. 2 - 1 was the halftime score. Al-Daud enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.
Al-Daud levelled the score after 54 minutes to make it 2 - 2, as
Gaétan Gonzalez struck home after a fine midfield combination through the middle, leaving him completely unmarked. Al-Daud took the lead 70 minutes into the game, scoring the 2 - 3 goal after some elegant plays down the middle.
Driekus Coenegracht was the scorer. After 76 minutes of game time,
Edgar Abregu had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
Valdir Dias Paes was in the right place and tipped the ball to a corner. A thrilling play through the middle 85 minutes into the match gave Al-Daud's
Giorgio Cantarini a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 2 - 4. Al-Daud held the ball, with a clear 63 percent of possession.
The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Valdir Dias Paes.
胡 (Hu) 辉洪 (Huihong) on the other hand, had a terrible day. Al-Daud's best player was
Peter Davies.
Borut Povh was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 4.
