4everton 0 - 4 Grilled
572 spectators had come to Toa Payoh Stadium this cloudy day.
Lubomyr Oprya was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Władysław Czapiasty and
Antonio Bonfanti. 4everton started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Lineup: ä»è£• (Renyu) - Chi Chao, Starlet, Ping Wen, Ayub - Shi Hao, èªå‹‡ (Congyong), NiewiÅ„ski, Min Rong - Silver, Kai-Ge.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Dias Paes - Ãrva, Lik-Tsun, Meng Guang - Penati, MacKinnon, Branbilla, Han Kok, è¾¾è£ (Darong) - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
The guests almost went up by a goal after 15 minutes when
John MacKinnon came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. There was concern in the stands when, at the 18 minute mark, Grilled's
Matthias Branbilla hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. The terraces were silenced after 35 minutes when Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.
A drive on the left side allowed Grilled's
John MacKinnon to get in close and score a goal after 48 minutes, leading to 0 - 2. 4everton's
Chee Shi Hao was shown a yellow card after 71 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Ang Ping Wen behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 75 minutes as he gave the ball away to
Maikel Rotteveel. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. The visitors'
Subri bin Ku Zainol took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 80 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Grilled. 81 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 4 as
Tan Meng Guang finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. After this, Grilled lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. A misunderstanding between the visitors' keeper
Valdir Dias Paes and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for 4everton, but
Jacek Niewiński's finish was way too lame. 86 minutes into the game, Grilled worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 58 percent possession of the ball.
4everton's best player was
Weng Kai-Ge.
黄 (Huang) ä»è£• (Renyu) turned in a dismal performance, however. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Valdir Dias Paes.
Tan Meng Guang was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
