OwnGoalers 3 - 2 Grilled
ercast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 69272 at Ownz Home today.
Seye Graas was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jan Tolstrup and
Barry Capella. OwnGoalers decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Fusco - Kurianowicz, Huelves, Pushkutsa - Skals Jensen, Richard, Esquivel, Tielemann, Bruschi - Stienstra, bin Bakiri.
Grilled tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Dias Paes - Ãrva, Lik-Tsun, Talib, bin Othman - å·åŸŽ (Chuancheng) , Branbilla, Han Kok, MacKinnon, 剑勇 (Jianyong) - Rotteveel.
Grilled clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. After a fine move down the middle
Olexandr Pushkutsa nearly gave the home side a goal after 5 minutes. The finishing shot went just wide, though. The most controversial moment of the game was likely the penalty given after 29 minutes. Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel kept his concentration, despite the upset crowd, and calmly put the ball past the keeper to score the 0 - 1 goal for the visitors. The home keeper was stunned 31 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by
Maikel Rotteveel and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 2. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. The forty-five minutes were dominated by OwnGoalers, with an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.
OwnGoalers's
Anders Skals Jensen soared above the crowd, but couldn't knock the header home 58 minutes into the match. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when
Hilaire Richard tried to sneak the ball past the keeper.
Valdir Dias Paes was too alert for that! OwnGoalers reduced the lead to 1 - 2 with 63 minutes on the clock when
Raúl Huelves got the best of a ball floated in from the left.
Placido Bruschi was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for OwnGoalers with a strike from the left, but
Valdir Dias Paes managed to ward the closing shot off to a corner. The defensive line of Grilled created a counterattack through the middle that gave
Zoltán Ãrva a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. After 79 minutes of play,
Ricardo Esquivel evened things up for OwnGoalers with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 2 - 2. OwnGoalers broke through on the left 84 minutes into the game, with
Floris-Jan Stienstra firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 3 - 2 lead. OwnGoalers claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
OwnGoalers's top performer was clearly
Ricardo Esquivel. However,
Raúl Huelves made a disastrous appearance. Most important Grilled player was
Matthias Branbilla.
Zulkiflee bin Othman turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
