Rovers 0 - 9 Grilled
brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 7000 to City Park.
Ole Skovsen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Albert Mutný and
Dennis van der Kolk. Rovers had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Ding-Bong - Choi-Lin, Xuong, Doh-Won, Dong-Yul - Heert-Jan, bin Fadzim, Ie-Tsen, Chong-Ho - Siew, Kin-Kwok.
Grilled decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. Starters: Dias Paes - 辉洪 (Huihong) , Ãrva, Talib, bin Othman - 剑勇 (Jianyong) , Mirchev, MacKinnon, å·åŸŽ (Chuancheng) - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Today, Grilled's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. Grilled took the lead 3 minutes into the game, scoring the 0 - 1 goal after some elegant plays down the middle.
Zulkiflee bin Othman was the scorer. After 6 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Ivaylo Mirchev to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. After this, Grilled lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. After 14 minutes Rovers's
Mohd Amran bin Fadzim contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. Grilled's
范 (Fan) å·åŸŽ (Chuancheng) was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
Maikel Rotteveel managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 0 - 3 after 17 minutes. With 21 minutes played, a phenomenal play on the left side freed
Subri bin Ku Zainol, of Grilled, to dash through and score another goal for the visitors. The score was then 0 - 4. It was 0 - 4 at the break. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.
48 minutes into the match, Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to

胡 (Hu) 剑勇 (Jianyong) broke through on the right, upping the score for Grilled to 0 - 6, much to the home crowd's dismay. Grilled will have to do without
Subri bin Ku Zainol for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 60 minute mark. He was substituted by
Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob. As usual,
Jin Choi-Lin tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard on this day and he couldn't keep pace at all. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 72 minutes, Grilled tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. The visitors'
Maikel Rotteveel took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 78 minutes into the match. 0 - 7 for Grilled. 81 minutes in, Rovers's
Shu Kin-Kwok received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The intense heat forced
Maikel Rotteveel into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others. After 85 minutes, Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 8. At that,
Maikel Rotteveel was noted down for a hat trick. A drive on the left side allowed Grilled's
胡 (Hu) 剑勇 (Jianyong) to get in close and score a goal after 88 minutes, leading to 0 - 9. Rovers's
Lin Chong-Ho got himself booked for a foul. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.
Rovers's best player was
Lin Chong-Ho.
Wen Ie-Tsen was a disappointment, however. Most important Grilled player was
Valdir Dias Paes. On the other hand,
胡 (Hu) 辉洪 (Huihong) 's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 9.
