ear skies welcomed the 59723 spectators who had made their way to Ground Zero.
Fabrizio Zebedeo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bruno Grassi and
Tuomo Rolig. Everyone was excited about the upcoming
West derby and the crowd was divided evenly. Void had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. They fielded: Remetter - Tavousi, Bertin, Menth - Lahikainen, Aires, Faccioli, Nayak - Ford, Araújo, Nazım.
Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Dias Paes - Ãrva, Lik-Tsun, Talib - Penati, Branbilla, MacKinnon, Han Kok, è¾¾è£ (Darong) - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Void took the lead 10 minutes in, as
Tayyip Nazım broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. Void's
Gérard Bertin refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 20 minutes. After 24 minutes, the visitors evened the score after
Subri bin Ku Zainol made it through the middle and struck home the 1 - 1 goal. Down the middle came
John MacKinnon, making a fantastic play that nearly had Grilled take the lead after 33 minutes, but
Alphonse Remetter preserved the tie. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field resulted in a goal after 34 minutes by
Tayyip Nazım for Void, putting them ahead 2 - 1.
John MacKinnon finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 2 - 2 35 minutes into the match. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 2. Void enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
Making his way up the middle 49 minutes into the match,
Gérard Bertin almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
Valdir Dias Paes blocked it to keep the score level. Void broke through on the left 73 minutes into the game, with
Lars Menth firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 3 - 2 lead.
Rossano Faccioli should probably have put his team up another goal after 77 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
Valdir Dias Paes kept the visitors in the game. Void claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
Most important Void player was
Ryan Nayak. However,
Ahmad Tavousi made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Subri bin Ku Zainol.
Han Lik-Tsun on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 2.
