Grilled 0 - 3 Winning
scorching day at The Cooking Pot, where 38846 spectators were in place for today's match.
Stefan Hammarmo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Carlos Chaler and
Lukas Hockler. Grilled had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. Lineup: Harlow - Rottman, Tuan-Mu, Pakpao, Dewilde - Dai-Lin, Siu-Yue, Noor Yadah, Stanton, Kek-Tjiang - Martinsson.
Winning had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Pinchetti - Kolozsvári, Håkansson, Allen - Ketteringham, Silverling, Sulecki, Nederwald, Bäckquist - Avramidis, Hjorting.
It was obvious that Grilled were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. Winning seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 10 minutes into the match left Winning's
Hans Hjorting completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. Winning's
Hans Hjorting received a play slashing through the home side's central defense after 20 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 2 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
Ma Dai-Lin found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
Nikos Avramidis came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle, but he lifted the ball over
Clair Harlow and it was a little too high and hit the bar. 40 minutes into the match Grilled's
Nui Pakpao head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately.
Jimmy Nederwald was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so Winning's
Hannes Liljensten had to come off the bench.
Gustav Håkansson increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 3. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Winning held the ball, with a clear 53 percent of possession.
Aznan Noor Yadah challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 54 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball combination. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it. Grilled's ability to press their opponents all over the field paid off frequently. A crazy pass by
Asher Stanton towards his own keeper almost caused a goal for Winning, but
Kim Bäckquist didn't get the finish right. After 80 minutes Winning's
Tom Pinchetti contracted a slight foot injury, but could finish the game. Winning held the ball, with a clear 53 percent of possession.
Most important Grilled player was
Aznan Noor Yadah.
Jon Andrea Rottman on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Winning player was without a doubt
Bogumil Sulecki.
Hannes Liljensten on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 3.
