Grilled 3 - 1 Flache
ear skies welcomed the 3678 spectators who had made their way to los atrapasueños Arena.
Tibor Bicskei was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Juan Peñarrubia and
Iuliu Mitu. The match took place on neutral ground. Grilled started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Dias Paes - Zywczyn, Lik-Tsun, Ãrva, Talib - Penati, Branbilla, MacKinnon, Han Kok - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Flache had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Yassuda - Autiokari, Khamsing, Prekratić - Bozsik, Kräuter, Modgarben, Brandstätter, Ivan - Allersmeier, Radosz.
The visitors could have taken the lead from a free kick after 5 minutes, if it wasn't for the jaw-dropping save by
Valdir Dias Paes. The guests took the lead 17 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
Frank Allersmeier scoring the 0 - 1 goal. Grilled's
Matthias Branbilla was shown a yellow card after 25 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
Paweł Radosz after 25 minutes, and prevented Flache from going up another goal. 26 minutes into the game,
Ville Autiokari had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
Carl-Philipp Deubler. Grilled showed their counterattack skill 31 minutes into the match, with
Maikel Rotteveel scoring uncontested for 1 - 1. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
Grilled broke through on the left 51 minutes into the game, with
John MacKinnon firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 2 - 1 lead.
David Ivan made a run for the goal 69 minutes into the game but the home team's far left defence managed to sort the situation out in the end. Coming through the middle
Peter Brandstätter almost scored the equaliser for Flache after 81 minutes, but
Valdir Dias Paes made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post.
Ciro Penati gave Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 1 after 85 minutes, following a good exchange of passes on the right that the away team failed to deal with. After this, Grilled lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.
Most important Grilled player was
Subri bin Ku Zainol. However,
Ciro Penati made a disastrous appearance. Flache's top performer was clearly
Paweł Radosz.
Carl-Philipp Deubler was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 1.
