Islanders 0 - 8 Grilled

00 spectators had come to Clementi Road this cloudy day. Reikko Aruniit was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hermès Le Maitre and Stefan Due. Islanders had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Thien-Ky - Bao-Lam, bin Sabtu, Yu-Hsing, bin Moidony - Zhenyu, Gyong-si, Po-Fat, Zhen-Jie - Chau-Cheung, Tso-Yu.

Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Dias Paes - Fjällbratt, Árva, Deme - Chowdhury, Mirchev, Seng-Huat, Branbilla, Penati - Rotteveel, Hjortlind.

Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Zoltán Árva knocked one home from a counter-attack down the right wing, making the score 0 - 1 after 7 minutes. Ming Thien-Ky got a fingertip on Maikel Rotteveel's shot from the left 29 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. Sándor Deme seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in the 0-2 goal for Grilled after a corner kick that was nicely executed by Matthias Branbilla. The structure of the game started to change as Grilled decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. After 40 minutes, Grilled's Ulf Hjortlind burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. After 41 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Maikel Rotteveel who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 4. Grilled's Ulf Hjortlind received a play slashing through the home side's central defense after 42 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 5 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. 0 - 5 was the score after the first half. Grilled held the ball, with a clear 64 percent of possession.

Islanders had to make a substitution after 59 minutes. Huang Tso-Yu limped off the field and was replaced by Li Jing-Jon. Islanders was now without a captain, so it was left to Ming Thien-Ky to take the captain's armband. 63 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 6 as Tapesh Chowdhury finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Grilled's opponents know to be wary of Ciro Penati's speed, but it made little difference as he blew past the defence 66 minutes into the game. Only the keeper could stop him - and he did with a perfectly timed dive! The home crowd was not impressed when Ciro Penati came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 67 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 7. Grilled's Weng Seng-Huat was shown a yellow card after 68 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Grilled's Ciro Penati received a play slashing through the home side's central defense after 73 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 8 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.

The most dominating Islanders player was without a doubt Mar Chau-Cheung. Li Po-Fat turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Valdir Dias Paes. On the other hand, Weng Seng-Huat's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 8.
