Rollin' 6 - 1 Grilled
irly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 59461 to Takemikazuchi.
Snir Rosenberger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Felipe Luezas and
Albrecht Schöneweide. People from all over
West had joined up for the derby. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Rollin'. Starters: Wei-Ming - bin Udi, bin Fadzim, bin Ahmad Mokshinon - Linlind, Batista, de Man, Min Fu, Wallner - Khumalo, Hiekka.
Grilled decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Bao-Tam - Zywczyn, Talib, Lik-Tsun, Árva - Deme, Branbilla, Han Kok, Spirig - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Grilled used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. Making his way up the middle 18 minutes into the match,
Robson Khumalo almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
Hang Bao-Tam blocked it to keep the score level. At this time in the match, Grilled were using their skill at pressing to successfully put pressure on their opponents.
Robson Khumalo's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 35 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a snappy through ball to
Juho Hiekka who knocked it in for Rollin'. 1-0! After 40 minutes,
Mark Linlind put Rollin' ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side.
Juho Hiekka increased Rollin''s lead to 3 - 0, putting a header away on a hooked ball from the right. By now, Rollin' were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. Rollin''s
Iskandar Zulkernain bin Ahmad Mokshinon refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 45 minutes. A bit later, Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel easily reduced to 3 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. Halftime score was 3 - 1. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Rollin', with an impressive 58 percent possession of the ball.
Rollin' put themselves up 4 - 1 when
Mark Linlind broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. After 75 minutes,
Iskandar Zulkernain bin Ahmad Mokshinon put Rollin' ahead 5 - 1 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. Cheers filled the stadium as
Juho Hiekka broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the 6 - 1 goal for Rollin'. By then
Juho Hiekka was a three time scorer - a hat trick! Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Rollin''s
Zainuddin bin Fadzim a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 77 minutes into the game. Grilled's talent at pressing frustrated their opponents. Rollin''s opponents know to be wary of
Robson Khumalo's speed, but it made little difference as he blew past the defence 86 minutes into the game. Only the keeper could stop him - and he did with a perfectly timed dive! After 87 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Jurjan de Man might have resulted in another goal for Rollin'. However,
Hang Bao-Tam made a spectacular save. Rollin' held the ball, with a clear 59 percent of possession.
Rollin''s top performer was clearly
Deng Wei-Ming. On the other hand,
Iskandar Zulkernain bin Ahmad Mokshinon's play was disheartening. Most important Grilled player was
Subri bin Ku Zainol.
Hang Bao-Tam was a disappointment, however. The match ends 6 - 1.
