CBF 2 - 4 Grilled
rk skies made the crowd of 5441 at Arena de Romario a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Aksel Stounberg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Tom Irblom and
Lars Pålsson. CBF decided to use a 5-4-1 set up. The following players took the field: Grundman - Luluporo, Ball, Baydoun, Bdaiwi, Hyman - Tompras, Oran, Haytham, Reinhardt - Minichberger.
Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Bao-Tam - Branbilla, Seng-Huat, Deme - Chowdhury, Mirchev, Fjällbratt, Han Kok, Penati - bin Ku Zainol, Hjortlind.
Grilled's
Matthias Branbilla got himself booked for a foul. The CBF player who had to be helped off the pitch, was
Ameen Bdaiwi as he was unable to finish the game.
Najjar Awad Ammouri came in to finish the match. Grilled took the lead 24 minutes into the game, scoring the 0 - 1 goal after some elegant plays down the middle.
Ciro Penati was the scorer. CBF's
Janosch Reinhardt placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but
Ahmed Ommar Baydoun couldn't finish. The away team's
Ciro Penati took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 39 minutes which increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 2. After 40 minutes of game time,
Ivaylo Mirchev had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
Benny Grundman was in the right place and tipped the ball to a corner. The home crowd was given a certain amount of consolation when
Hermadan Luluporo, after a brilliant midfield combination through the middle, reduced the lead to 1 - 2. It was 1 - 2 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.
A thrilling play through the middle 49 minutes into the match gave Grilled's
Ciro Penati a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 3. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for
Ciro Penati. By now, Grilled were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. A drive on the left side allowed Grilled's
Matthias Branbilla to get in close and score a goal after 50 minutes, leading to 1 - 4. Intentions were certainly good, but the Grilled indirect free kick combination after 59 minutes was easily anticipated by the defenders. That was a textbook example of how to defend a free kick - the attackers were left with few viable options. 61 minutes were showing on the scoreboard when Grilled's
Matthias Branbilla received his second yellow card and was sent off. A penalty kick was awarded to CBF 72 minutes into the match, and
Albuin Minichberger expertly put it away. 2 - 4. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.
CBF's best player was
Janosch Reinhardt.
Abbas Haytham on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Quah Han Kok.
Weng Seng-Huat turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 4.
