Chambo 2 - 4 Grilled

ear skies welcomed the 2218 spectators who had made their way to The Prize. Kemalettin Atız was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Triantafillos Melissinos and Vlad Andronache. Chambo started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. They fielded: Rotzetter - Dias Correia, Huomo, Nielsen - Blanquart, Cozzi, Momose, Bola, Miani - Derksen, Magufuli.

Grilled started off with a 4-3-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Bao-Tam - Mirchev, Alcántara, Talib, Branbilla - Deme, Spirig, Penati - bin Yaacob, Hobson, Hjortlind.

Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. A well placed corner kick from Augusto Miani was followed by Rami Huomo's hard but accurate header. The nice combination marked a goal for Chambo, the score now 1-0. Chambo put in a good effort on the right, but Erik Nielsen saw his volley fly wide of the mark 25 minutes into the game. Given a free kick at a sharp angle, Grilled went for a variation that loyal fans may recognize from training. A sideways passing move moved the defence out of position and let Matthias Branbilla slip through on goal. No hesitation - and it's 1 - 1, 34 minutes into the game. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Grilled's Ciro Penati got himself booked. The guests almost went up by a goal after 39 minutes when Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. After 40 minutes Chambo's Bennie Derksen limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. 1 - 2 was the score with 41 minutes played, after Grilled's Ivaylo Mirchev cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal. 43 minutes into the game, Grilled had difficulty finding their positions and their organization dropped to poor. Nuno Dias Correia made a superb strike after 45 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. After 45 minutes Chambo's Titus Rotzetter limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. It was 1 - 2 at the break. This half belonged to Chambo, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

Grilled's coach had an extra briefing during the break, and after that his players had passable organization. After 66 minutes, Grilled raised their score by one when Ciro Penati's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by Mohd Firdaus bin Yaacob. 1 - 3. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, Nawaz Talib would have put Grilled up another goal 67 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. Chambo reduced the lead to 2 - 3 with 76 minutes on the clock when Erik Nielsen got the best of a ball floated in from the left. With 77 minutes played, a phenomenal play on the left side freed Ivaylo Mirchev, of Grilled, to dash through and score another goal for the visitors. The score was then 2 - 4. This half belonged to Chambo, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

The most dominating Chambo player was without a doubt Gelsomino Cozzi. Bennie Derksen was a disappointment, however. Grilled's top performer was clearly Nawaz Talib. On the other hand, Tim Hobson" alt="Tim Hobson">Tim Hobson's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 4.
