Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Huel-sheng - Pakpao, Tuan-Mu, Dewilde - Kolesov, Stanton, Paullin, Siu-Yue, Rottman - Hobson, Stern.
Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. After 8 minutes, Grilled's
Milen Kolesov made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. Apex's
Jesper Lindø Westergaard put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 32 minutes, but the ball went wide. Grilled had to make a substitution after 41 minutes.
Au-Yong Siu-Yue limped off the field and was replaced by
Antonio Fernández Riviera.
Antonio Fernández Riviera came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle, but he lifted the ball over
Steven Saxon and it was a little too high and hit the bar. 42 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as
Lan Tuan-Mu finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. After this, Grilled lowered the tempo in order to concentrate on their defensive efforts. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Apex held the ball, with a clear 54 percent of possession.
Apex reduced the lead to 1 - 2 with 49 minutes on the clock when
Mircea Iordache got the best of a ball floated in from the left. The referee showed Apex's

Nui Pakpao received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The referee showed Apex's
Mervyn Fraser the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Apex claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.
After the regular 90 minutes, the agony of overtime followed.
Garry Collins gave Apex the lead with 3 - 2, as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the keeper's right post. Extra time over, Apex were the victors!
