Grilled 4 - 1 Durian_picker
ear skies welcomed the 70018 spectators who had made their way to The Cooking Pot.
Maynard Levi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Alfonso Lamar and
Rodrigo Lopes Barros. The derby had been the talk of
West all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Dias Paes - Penati, Zywczyn, Talib - Chowdhury, MacKinnon, Paullin, Han Kok, Spirig - Rotteveel, bin Ku Zainol.
Durian_picker decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Barkal - Beng Jia, Da-Li, Xin Yeng - Keng Xin, bin Sulong, Maruf, Yongguo, Marseillan - Yahaya, Soon-Jung.
It seemed as though Grilled considered the game won before even taking the field, which resulted in a very uninspired start to the game. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. They were singing the praises of
Subri bin Ku Zainol 4 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from just outside the centre part of the opponent's penalty area found its way over the visitors keeper to make the score 1 - 0 for Grilled. The visitors didn't give in and, after 20 minutes,
Looi Keng Xin got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 1 - 1. After 28 minutes, Grilled's
Maikel Rotteveel swiftly ran past
Ye Da-Li to put away the 2-1 goal. Cheers filled the stadium as
Sylweriusz Zywczyn broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the 3 - 1 goal for Grilled. Confident in their lead, Grilled decided to play a more defensive game at this point. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Grilled's
Nawaz Talib a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 33 minutes into the game. It was 3 - 1 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
Lan Yongguo should take his lesson to heart after nearly giving Grilled a goal with 72 minutes of the match played. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Maikel Rotteveel squirmed himself through their central defence after 75 minutes, bringing the lead to 4 - 1. After an industrious effort down the middle,
Dani Spirig could have closed the game off after 79 minutes, but his finishing shot hit the post. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Durian_picker's
Serhat Maruf got himself booked. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.
Grilled's best player was
Valdir Dias Paes. However,
Ciro Penati made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Durian_picker player was without a doubt
Remeli Yahaya. On the other hand,
Lan Yongguo's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 1.
