Blues 5 - 2 Grilled

e to an all-day shower, 5222 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Stamford Bridge. Tomi Markkonen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jonas Ziegemeyer and Frodewin Meinhardt. Blues had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Kianfar - Tordjman, Bahrami, Piroozi - Silfwerfeldt, Ramezani, Iiasalo, Van Oversteyns - Toranji, Damavandi, van der Berg.

Grilled decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Huel-sheng - Seng-Huat, Bona, Alcántara - Chowdhury, Fjällbratt, Jie Siong, Deme, Penati - Mirchev, bin Yaacob.

Edmond Ramezani received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 9 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Blues broke through on the left 11 minutes into the game, with Jan Silfwerfeldt firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. Cheers filled the stadium as Markus Iiasalo broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the 2 - 0 goal for Blues. By now, Blues were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. Blues put themselves up 3 - 0 when Jan Silfwerfeldt broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. Unfortunately for Blues, Vincent Van Oversteyns suffered a concussion after 31 minutes and had to be taken for tests. The coach had his head in his hands after realising he could not send a replacement onto the pitch, and the team had to continue a man short. The away team reduced the score to 3 - 1, as Lee Jie Siong struck home, set up well by a play on the left 37 minutes into the match. A great save by keeper Cheung Huel-sheng after 41 minutes kept the visitors in the game after Rian van der Berg struck from the left with a real cannonball. Blues's Amirhossein Piroozi was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 42 minutes. It was 3 - 1 at the break. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Roxan Tordjman squirmed himself through their central defence after 51 minutes, bringing the lead to 4 - 1. Blues put themselves up 5 - 1 when Jan Silfwerfeldt broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. By then Jan Silfwerfeldt was a three time scorer - a hat trick! Blues put in a good effort on the right, but Sam Toranji saw his volley fly wide of the mark 67 minutes into the game. The home team's fans were not happy with the visitors' Lee Jie Siong's great free kick that resulted in Grilled reducing the score to 5 - 2. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.

Markus Iiasalo performed admirably for Blues. However, Masoud Kianfar made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Lee Jie Siong. Luis Alcántara was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 2.
