The lights 1 - 4 Grilled
e crowd of 60000 turning up at The Discworld today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Wolfram Holletschek was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Gustaw Antosz and
Wisi Siggelkow. The lights had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Dimakakis - bin Man, Sousa, Janrung - Deloffre, Davidsson, Mathiasson, Jędrys, Sandu - Chun-Hung, Nakatani.
Grilled decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Dias Paes - Zywczyn, Lik-Tsun, Bona - Jie Siong, MacKinnon, Paullin, Han Kok, Spirig - bin Ku Zainol, Rotteveel.
Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. The referee showed The lights's
Cristóvão Sousa the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After the game, the most discussed event will probably be the penalty given after 25 minutes that gave the visitors the 0 - 1 lead. Despite the controversy,
Sylweriusz Zywczyn struck home the penalty, as cool as anything. The rain made it hard for players like
Sylweriusz Zywczyn to show their technical control of the ball on this soggy day.
Lorenz Paullin increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 2. The lights's
Mats Davidsson was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 35 minutes. Grilled's
Subri bin Ku Zainol received a play slashing through the home side's central defense after 36 minutes, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 3 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. It was 0 - 3 at the break. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.
50 minutes into the game, Grilled worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
Zeng Chun-Hung was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, The lights's
Mats Davidsson managed to get hold of the rebound and scored the 1-3 goal. After 69 minutes of game time,
Fabian Bona had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
Yiorgos Dimakakis was in the right place and tipped the ball to a corner. The referee showed The lights's
Dragos Sandu the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The visitors'
Dani Spirig took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 71 minutes into the match. 1 - 4 for Grilled. This half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.
The lights's best player was
Benon Jędrys. On the other hand,
Sapian bin Man's play was disheartening.
Subri bin Ku Zainol performed admirably for Grilled.
Sylweriusz Zywczyn was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 4.
