Razer 1 - 3 Grilled
994 spectators arrived at Coliseum d'Hauts Esprits, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Michael Ludvigsen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Anton Eberhardt and
Raimondo Meuri. Razer started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Jiao-Long - Feuchter, Patel, Wee-Hwa - Chin Aik, Brandenberg, Tsu-Yee, Shen, Winckler - Hellell, Payer.
Grilled started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. Lineup: Dias Paes - Zywczyn, Lik-Tsun, Jie Siong, Talib - van Liere, MacKinnon, Paullin, Han Kok, Spirig - bin Ku Zainol.
Grilled decided to play creatively. 7 minutes into the game,
Wang Wee-Hwa had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
Thomas Tellbrant. Down the middle came
Quah Han Kok, making a fantastic play that nearly had Grilled take the lead after 8 minutes, but
Mak Jiao-Long preserved the tie. Razer's
Zou Tsu-Yee got himself booked for a foul. Grilled were forced to a substitution as
Dani Spirig couldn't continue playing due to the rough treatment, forcing
Ivaylo Mirchev to come in from the sidelines. With 29 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
Nawaz Talib put the ball away for 0 - 1. An amazing free kick flew past the home side keeper 30 minutes into the match, putting Grilled ahead with the 0 - 2 goal.
Sylweriusz Zywczyn was the scorer. Halftime score was 0 - 2. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Razer, with an impressive 51 percent possession of the ball.
Razer's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 66 minutes into the match as
Peter Patel ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 2. Razer tried to even things up by sending a long play towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only showed Razer's
Weng Shen a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 71 minutes into the game. The visitors'
Ivaylo Mirchev took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs 79 minutes into the match. 1 - 3 for Grilled. By now, Grilled were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams.
Razer's best player was
Beni Brandenberg.
Thomas Tellbrant was a disappointment, however. Most important Grilled player was
Valdir Dias Paes.
Ivaylo Mirchev was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
