Grilled 4 - 3 Geylang

822 spectators had found their way to The Cooking Pot, despite the heavy rain. Salvador Sanchis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Christoph-Franz Harzdorf and Marco Martínez. Grilled started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Bao-Tam - Alcántara, Tuan-Mu, Dewilde - Dai-Lin, Ju-Hau, Noor Yadah, Kek-Tjiang, Stanton - Hjortlind, Martinsson.

Geylang started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. Lineup: Adkins - Gustavsson, Fui-Gna, Hong-gil - Unwin, Thiam-Loy, Ditã, Chang-Sik - Hoang-Huan, Jie-Quan, Ser-Kiat.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Geylang. 5 minutes into the game, Tsai Jie-Quan almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. With 19 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. Jin Thiam-Loy put the ball away for 0 - 1. Geylang's Luo Ser-Kiat got himself booked for a foul. After 24 minutes, Lan Tuan-Mu made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 1 - 1. Grilled broke through on the left 30 minutes into the game, with Ola Martinsson firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 2 - 1 lead. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Grilled claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.

A great save by keeper Ngake Adkins after 50 minutes kept the visitors in the game after Ma Dai-Lin struck from the left with a real cannonball. Geylang was great at switching from defence to attack, and after 55 minutes, Tsai Jie-Quan swept through in the middle after such a counterattack, making the score 2 - 2. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Grilled's Asher Stanton got himself booked. Grilled took the lead, 3 - 2, after a penalty 71 minutes into the match. Ola Martinsson scored from the penalty spot. The visitors' Tsai Jie-Quan was alert on a play coming in from the left, tying the score at 3 - 3 after 75 minutes. Grilled took the lead, 4 - 3, after a penalty 82 minutes into the match. Ola Martinsson scored from the penalty spot. By then Ola Martinsson was a three time scorer - a hat trick! The forty-five minutes were dominated by Grilled, with an impressive 63 percent possession of the ball.

Most important Grilled player was Shen Kek-Tjiang. Asher Stanton on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Geylang player was Tsai Jie-Quan. Aristide Ditã on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 3.
