Busby-Babes 5 - 4 Grilled

e to an all-day shower, 4190 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Gamla torfan. Timon Magne was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Michał Nalazek and Mikko Notkonen. Busby-Babes tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. The following players had been chosen: Rikardsson - Christiansson, Meier, Brandman - Boon-Sing, Edén, Previtali, Lagerland - Kekic, Örn Hilmisson, Yngvesson.

Grilled had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Huel-sheng - Alcántara, Tuan-Mu, Siu-Cheung - Kolesov, Rottman, Stanton, Siu-Yue, Ju-Hau - Dai-Lin, Stern.

Busby-Babes mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 11 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Patrik Brandman, who, unaided, came in from the right wing hooking the ball over the visitors' keeper. 15 minutes into the game Grilled's Joe Stern found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. Busby-Babes were very close to putting themselves one up after 27 minutes as Gunnar Sveinn Örn Hilmisson got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. Busby-Babes took the lead 41 minutes into the game by 2 to 1, as Patrik Yngvesson elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. 42 minutes into the game Grilled's Milen Kolesov found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 2 - 2. Halftime score was 2 - 2. Busby-Babes claimed to be the more dominant force in the game, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

Gunnar Sveinn Örn Hilmisson of Busby-Babes received a yellow card after 50 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 51 minutes, Joe Stern sprinted between the opposing defenders, but the keeper deflected Ma Dai-Lin's shot. Busby-Babes broke through on the left 52 minutes into the game, with Mike Previtali firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 3 - 2 lead. The visitors' Au-Yong Siu-Yue was alert on a play coming in from the left, tying the score at 3 - 3 after 56 minutes. Grilled's Milen Kolesov got himself booked for a foul. Busby-Babes's Gunnar Sveinn Örn Hilmisson went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention. Kau Siu-Cheung seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in the 3-4 goal for Grilled after a corner kick that was nicely executed by Joe Stern. Busby-Babes's Bai Boon-Sing put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored the 4 - 4 goal with 84 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. Grilled's Jon Andrea Rottman got himself booked for a foul. The Busby-Babes player who had to be helped off the pitch, was Gunnar Sveinn Örn Hilmisson as he was unable to finish the game. Jonas Sanding came in to finish the match. Busby-Babes held the ball, with a clear 60 percent of possession.

Not having decided a winner at the end of regulation, the match went into extra time. After 92 minutes of play, Jonas Sanding gave the home team a 5 - 4 lead after an attack coming in from the right. This put an end to extra time, making Busby-Babes the winners.

The most dominating Busby-Babes player was without a doubt Mike Previtali. Bai Boon-Sing on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Grilled player was Asher Stanton. However, Ma Dai-Lin made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 4.
