62723 spectators had come to Ballota Stadium this cloudy day. 学 (Gaku) 木下 (Kinoshita) was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alain Demolin and Gerlando Badessi. The match took place on neutral ground. Regency's lineup was: Mohd Muslim - Boye, Quintiàn, Svensson - Hernou, Ponzio, Hayut, Bak, Fikadu - Bayliss, Sezzi.

Grilled fielded: Marcol - Himadas, 其材 (Qicai) - Reddy, Chitre, Keng Chuan, An Keng, Andrović - Teck Fu, Thach, Khairul.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-5-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. It was obvious that Regency were using their solid pressing skill as their primary tactic. Abdul Razak Mohd Muslim looked great 4 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors' Gandhik Chitre. 9 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Regency was Canaan Fikadu. Regency increased the lead as Leonard Sezzi struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

60 minutes into the match, Grilled replied and reduced the lead to 2 - 1. Chad Thach scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left. The pressing tactics used by Regency were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. Grilled had a chance to level the scores as Gandhik Chitre suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 72 minutes, Grilled did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, Lim An Keng was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 2. The visiting Chad Thach was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 76 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 1 minute beyond the regular 90 minutes. 89 minutes into the match, Regency's Brad Bayliss maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 3 - 3. After the regular 91 minutes, the agony of extra time followed. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 61 percent of the ball.

Grilled had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 93 minutes in when Gandhik Chitre came up alone against Abdul Razak Mohd Muslim who managed a block. Grilled's Mohd Marzuki Khairul managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 100 minutes. 3 - 4. After 103 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Gandhik Chitre a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 3 - 5. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 104 minutes, Hein Thiha Pyae Ko came on for Aw Keng Chuan. Darko 'Donnie' Andrović wanted to play on, but the Grilled coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 104 minutes into the game by 元気 (Genki) 長野 (Nagano). At the 106 minute mark, it looked like the opportunity for Grilled to score had been missed until Brian 'Was Born' Reddy suddenly worked his way clear and fired off a spectacular shot. The keeper had no chance! 3 - 6. 119 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Dimitris Germanakos came on for 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai). The Grilled captaincy was handed to 元気 (Genki) 長野 (Nagano). The match ends 3 - 6. Most important Regency player was Brad Bayliss. Grilled's top performer was clearly Chad Thach.
