Flying Dutch'O'man entered the field in a 3-5-2 formation. The visitors,
Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup.
Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their
divine (+8) level with that tactic. Down the middle came
Lim An Keng, making a fantastic play that nearly had
Grilled take the lead after 20 minutes, but
Juliusz Dudziak preserved the tie.
Enzo Ölscher showed why he is feared on the counterattack, breaking through in the middle and scoring for
DutchOman after 21 minutes to make the score 1 - 0. The head of
Fawzy Naseem Al-Fehdy connected with a beautifully executed corner kick from
Sultan Abdulsalam Al-Dhamry of
DutchOman and blasted the ball into the net, making the score 2 - 0. The away team improved the scoreline to 2 - 1, as
Lim An Keng struck home, set up well by a play on the left 36 minutes into the match.
DutchOman put themselves up 3 - 1 when
Enzo Ölscher broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. The visiting team's coach wasn't happy with
Raúl Himadas after he missed an opportunity to reduce the score from the penalty spot 38 minutes into the match. Things were deteriorating for the away team as
DutchOman scored another to make it 4 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
Khalfan Saad Al-Mushefry after 41 minutes. At the 42 minute mark, it looked like the opportunity for
Grilled to score had been missed until
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy suddenly worked his way clear and fired off a spectacular shot. The keeper had no chance! 4 - 2.
Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. 43 minutes in,
Hwang Teck Fu made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but
Juliusz Dudziak refused to let the ball slip by him. 4 - 2 was the halftime score.
Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
After 52 minutes,
Raúl Himadas chose the right corner while taking his penalty, humiliating the home keeper, who dived in the wrong direction. The goal reduced the home lead to 4 - 3. 53 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Abdulfatah Fadhil Al-Mahry broke through, making the score 5 - 3 for
DutchOman. With 55 minutes played,
DutchOman put themselves up 6 - 3 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Pushkal Singh, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. After 59 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
Fawzy Naseem Al-Fehdy gave the
DutchOman supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 7 - 3.
Grilled's right side looked dangerous after 61 minutes, as
Gandhik Chitre broke through.
Juliusz Dudziak continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy.
Chia Kwang Tse would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Hein Thiha Pyae Ko entered the game for
Grilled as the match clock showed 70 minutes. 89 minutes into the game,
Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Darko 'Donnie' Andrović gave
Paulino Trindade a quick hug as he left the field. After 89 minutes, the
Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Aw Keng Chuan off the field.
元気 (Genki) 長野 (Nagano) took his place. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 3 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 7 - 3.
Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.
DutchOman's top performer was clearly
Fawzy Naseem Al-Fehdy.
Lim An Keng performed admirably for
Grilled.
