It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 3-5-2. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+6) ability to attack in the middle. 和馬 (Kazuma) 渕上 (Fuchigami) was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was drilled in by Sorin Brinda, but the ball bounced off the post to safety. Many thought Gandhik Chitre ought to have been awarded a penalty 5 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around Waldemar Peć after a determined run through the middle. Grilled could have put themselves ahead after 14 minutes but Lim An Keng missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Making his way up the middle 21 minutes into the match, Chia Kwang Tse almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert Waldemar Peć blocked it to keep the score level. 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 25 minutes. This gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

Hurricane tied it all up, 65 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by Eugenio Cipriani, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. They were singing the praises of Aw Keng Chuan 72 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Grilled. After 78 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Hwang Teck Fu might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Waldemar Peć made a spectacular save. The referee showed Grilled's Brian 'Was Born' Reddy the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Grilled's Aw Keng Chuan saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 80 minutes. Grilled's Gandhik Chitre had an excellent opportunity after 83 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! With the scoreboard clock showing 84 minutes, the inexperienced Grilled team fell into disarray. Darko 'Donnie' Andrović would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Paulino Trindade entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 85 minutes. The visitors' Anthony Perry was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 2 - 2 after 87 minutes. A precise pass from Piotr Wojtaszewski made the goal possible. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. 元気 (Genki) 長野 (Nagano) came on for Hwang Teck Fu. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Raúl Himadas gave Damian Hutter a quick hug as he left the field. Raúl Himadas was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that Aw Keng Chuan got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. The referee announced 1 minute of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 2 - 2. Grilled had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

Gandhik Chitre performed admirably for Grilled. Hurricane's top performer was clearly Eugenio Cipriani.
