50578 spectators arrived at Sancho Panza Team Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Fahd Al-Kawari was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jeanloup Pommerell and Santiago Maiza. The following players had been chosen by Sancho: Beng Shun - Holmanu, Hindi - Ocaña, Bob, Đorđević, Medina, Eintracht - 中沢 (Nakazawa), Tóth, Manière.

Grilled's lineup was: Marcol - Himadas, Hutter - Reddy, Thach, Keng Chuan, An Keng, Andrović - Teck Fu, Khairul, Kwang Tse.

As the teams prepared to start the match, they both lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. With 8 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. Hwang Teck Fu put the ball away for 0 - 1. The visitors added to their lead 20 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Grilled's Raúl Himadas slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 2. The home crowd was not impressed when Brian 'Was Born' Reddy came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 22 minutes. Grilled were now up 0 - 3. The home crowd was given a certain amount of consolation when Francisco Ocaña scored after a brilliant midfield combination through the centre, reducing the lead to 1 - 3. Some fine movement on the left led to a Grilled goal after 41 minutes, making it 1 - 4. Hwang Teck Fu was noted down as the scorer. It was 1 - 4 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

After 54 minutes Aristide Manière could have reduced the lead with a blistering strike from the left wing, had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors' keeper. A drive down the left side allowed Chia Kwang Tse to get in close and score another goal for Grilled after 61 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 5. With 75 minutes played, Aristide Manière of Sancho fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. With 77 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 1 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Chad Thach. Sancho's Nelson Medina placed the ball right at his teammate's feet with an inch perfect corner, but Lars Eintracht couldn't finish with the crowd letting out a collective grunt of shock as it went past the post on the wrong side. The referee signalled a penalty 83 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. Raúl Himadas knocked it home to make the score 1 - 7. Brian 'Was Born' Reddy increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 8. Mohd Marzuki Khairul left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 89 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Chan Ze Han" class="awayplayer">Chan Ze Han was the replacement. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 89 minutes, Kendell El Khateeb came on for Darko 'Donnie' Andrović. Chan Ze Han" class="awayplayer">Chan Ze Han was handed the Grilled captain's armband. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 8. Grilled had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

Most important Sancho player was 龍太郎 (Ryutaro) 中沢 (Nakazawa). Grilled's top performer was clearly Hwang Teck Fu.
