The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Chia Kwang Tse, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! The visitors didn't give in and, after 9 minutes, Tay 'Lucky' Fu Yew got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 1 - 1. Hans-Ulrich Rehn looked like he could fly, as he rose high to head the ball. Unfortunately for Joker, the ball went just barely wide. Chia Kwang Tse caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 18 minutes. This gave Grilled the 2 - 1 lead. Chad Thach increased the lead for Grilled to 3 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Cheers filled the stadium as Gandhik Chitre broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 1 to Grilled. 33 into the match, Grilled's Mohd Marzuki Khairul fell flat on his chest. After a breather, he was ready to continue. Joker fought on and, after 34 minutes, Au Chun Jun was able to reduce the deficit to 4 - 2 after some excellent moves on the right side were finished off with an incredibly clever chip. A precise pass from Chan 'Jayjay' Jian Jian made the goal possible. 4 - 2 was the score after the first half. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Grilled's Chia Kwang Tse saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 62 minutes. Raúl Himadas increased Grilled's lead to 5 - 2 with a penalty spot cannonball.
