The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Hibernoz went for 3-5-2 while Grilled Birds has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. Grilled used their divine (+5) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Grilled took the lead 5 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. Hwang Teck Fu was the scorer. The visitors' 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 9 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Grilled. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. The home crowd cheered when, after 24 minutes, Chad Thach's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. 26 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 3 as Hwang Teck Fu finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. 0 - 3 was the halftime score. Grilled had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. 元気 (Genki) 長野 (Nagano) reluctantly made way for Chia Kwang Tse on the pitch. Hibernoz didn't give in and with 57 minutes played Marcel Przypadek was able to make the score 1 - 3 after an attack on the right. All credit to Terrance Terrett for that clever assist. Lim An Keng increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 4. After 63 minutes, Grilled's Lim An Keng burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 5. The referee showed Hibernoz's Mel Attar the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Hibernoz reduced the lead to 2 - 5 with 68 minutes on the clock when Terrance Terrett got the best of a ball floated in from the left. A precise pass from Giorgio Araya made the goal possible. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Hibernoz substitution. Rueben Wickham came on for Gonzalo Güaldrón. With 75 minutes played, Chad Thach of Grilled fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Raúl Himadas off the field. Damian Hutter took his place. With Raúl Himadas no longer on the pitch, Brian 'Was Born' Reddy took over free kick duty. Darko 'Donnie' Andrović would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Paulino Trindade entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 2 - 5. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 57 percent of the ball.

Hibernoz's top performer was clearly Terrance Terrett. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Lim An Keng.
