The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while FC Gränsö has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. Grilled used their divine (+5) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. The guests took the lead 36 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in Federico 'Magic' Pintos scoring to make it 0 - 1. Grilled tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. The home crowd was not impressed when Jorian Strohalm came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 39 minutes. Gränsö were now up 0 - 2. With 41 minutes played, Gränsö put themselves up 0 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Mehrab 'Mesa' Samimian. After 42 minutes, Raúl Himadas sent the corner kick right to Lim An Keng who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 3! Gränsö played a good counterattacking move down the left 44 minutes into the match, with Jorian Strohalm finishing well for 1 - 4. Grilled's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 44 minutes into the match as Gandhik Chitre ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 2 - 4. 2 - 4 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) gave Aw Keng Chuan a quick hug as he left the field. The Grilled captaincy was handed to Darko 'Donnie' Andrović. Grilled's Hwang Teck Fu got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 3 - 4. Mohd Marzuki Khairul was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Grilled with a strike from the left, but Tariku Meleyo managed to ward the shot off for a corner. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 69 minutes played, Chad Thach of Grilled made the score 4 - 4. The guests almost went up by a goal after 70 minutes when Pier Luigi Forestan came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though. Gränsö's Federico 'Magic' Pintos managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 75 minutes. 4 - 5. Gandhik Chitre showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 78 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 5 - 5 equaliser away. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Damian Hutter came on for Raúl Himadas. With Raúl Himadas no longer on the pitch, 元気 (Genki) 長野 (Nagano) took over free kick duty. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 4 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 5 - 5. Gränsö enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.
