Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For
NIKH VOLOU, the formation of choice was 3-4-3.
Grilled used their
divine (+5) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
Dante Carvallo was stuck like glue to
Darko 'Donnie' Andrović, diminishing the
Grilled player's contribution in the match!
Grilled had a good opportunity to take the lead as
Lim An Keng came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of
Ysbrand Deruytere. 19 minutes into the game,
Vũ Ðình Cường was a hair's breadth away from giving
VOLOU the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by
Radomil Marcol saved the home team that time.
Grilled took the lead after 28 minutes as a result of
Lim An Keng's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. The visitors'
Ridho Slamet was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 1 - 1 after 29 minutes. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1.
Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Aw Keng Chuan entered the game for
Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes. As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
Darko 'Donnie' Andrović took over the role of being the
Grilled captain. 65 minutes into the game,
VOLOU wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Jarosław Dobrowolski gave
Bolesław Kryski a quick hug as he left the field. Some great play up the middle by
Grilled led to a chance for
Gandhik Chitre to score after 66 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
Grilled created a good opportunity to score 67 minutes into the match when
Darko 'Donnie' Andrović's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a
VOLOU substitution.
Luis Paredes came on for
Rastislav Kosár. As the 70 minute mark approached, the
VOLOU coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Tommy Eskeland reluctantly made way for
Ettore Stiletto on the pitch. They were singing the praises of
Aw Keng Chuan 76 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to
Grilled.
Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
Gandhik Chitre could have increased the lead after 78 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. The goal to make it 2 - 2 was scored by
Ridho Slamet after 79 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by
VOLOU. The head of
Aw Keng Chuan connected with a beautifully executed corner kick from
Raúl Himadas of
Grilled and blasted the ball into the net, making the score 3 - 2. After 89 minutes, the
Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Raúl Himadas off the field.
Damian Hutter took his place. With
Raúl Himadas no longer on the pitch,
元気 (Genki) 長野 (Nagano) became the new set pieces taker. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 1 minute of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 3 - 2.
Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Lim An Keng. Most important
VOLOU player was
Ridho Slamet.
