Slack defending gave Grilled a chance to take the lead with 14 minutes played, but Brian 'Was Born' Reddy's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 26 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Chad Thach, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. After 27 minutes, Lim An Keng put Grilled ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Lim An Keng increased the lead for Grilled to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! A well-timed setup from Gandhik Chitre preceded the goal. Grilled put themselves up 4 - 0 when Hwang Teck Fu broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 58 percent of the ball.

After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) off the field. Aw Keng Chuan took his place. Darko 'Donnie' Andrović was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. Raúl Himadas curled his corner straight toward the goal, but the tricky shot was somehow blocked by the keeper. However, Grilled's Gandhik Chitre managed to get hold of the rebound and scored the 5-0 goal. Chad Thach could have increased the lead after 50 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their player Rigino Locadia reduced the lead to make it 5 - 1 after 62 minutes, following a pass from the right. Veeti Ranto laid it on a plate with that delivery! Grilled solidified their lead at the 68 minute mark, as Raúl Himadas dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 1. 70 minutes in, Kappa's Veeti Ranto received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Kappa had a magnificent opportunity after 79 minutes as Rigino Locadia hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Damian Hutter came on for Raúl Himadas. As Raúl Himadas exited the field, 元気 (Genki) 長野 (Nagano) volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 6 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Lim An Keng. Kappa's top performer was clearly Henry Ivarsson.
