The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team
Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while
beitar nir has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup.
Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their
divine (+5) level with that tactic. The wings were the focus of most of
beitar's attacks on this day, taking advantage of their
titanic level with that tactic. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 7 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
Darko 'Donnie' Andrović, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
Raúl Himadas curled his corner straight toward the goal, but the tricky shot was somehow blocked by the keeper. However,
Grilled's
Hwang Teck Fu managed to get hold of the rebound and scored the 2-0 goal. The home side's
Chad Thach came close to extending the lead 13 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
Karim Abou El Nasr managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. The referee showed
beitar's
Mirosław Libuda the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Gandhik Chitre squirmed through their central defence after 29 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0.
Grilled had a magnificent opportunity after 34 minutes as
Darko 'Donnie' Andrović hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide. 3 - 0 was the halftime score.
Grilled had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a
Grilled substitution.
Aw Keng Chuan came on for
夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai). The
Grilled captaincy was handed to
Darko 'Donnie' Andrović. After 49 minutes,
beitar raised their score by one when
Mirosław Libuda's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by
Ariel Jedynak. 3 - 1. After 55 minutes, the
beitar coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Johan Grossegger off the field.
Nikodim Akimenko took his place.
Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Cheers filled the stadium as
Lim An Keng broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 1 to
Grilled.
Chad Thach increased the lead for
Grilled to 5 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! It was obvious that
beitar had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. The away team improved the scoreline to 5 - 2, as
Jacek Polakowski struck home, set up well by a play on the left 63 minutes into the match. As the 70 minute mark approached, the
beitar coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Karim Abou El Nasr reluctantly made way for
Pini Silbertal on the pitch. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in
Grilled's
Gandhik Chitre increasing the lead to 6 - 2.
Saşa Zolog would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Pablo Delage entered the game for
beitar as the match clock showed 72 minutes. The
beitar free kick 74 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
王 (Wang) 其材 (Qicai), who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 6 - 3! It was obvious that team
Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
Grilled solidified their lead at the 75 minute mark, as
Gandhik Chitre dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 7 - 3. This third goal completed a hattrick for
Gandhik Chitre.
Grilled's
元気 (Genki) 長野 (Nagano) got himself booked for a foul.
Grilled's
Mohd Marzuki Khairul had an excellent opportunity after 82 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! 89 minutes into the game,
Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Raúl Himadas gave
Damian Hutter a quick hug as he left the field. With
Raúl Himadas no longer on the pitch,
元気 (Genki) 長野 (Nagano) took over free kick duty. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 4 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 7 - 3.
Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
Gandhik Chitre performed admirably for
Grilled. The most dominating
beitar player was without a doubt
Ariel Jedynak.
