Lim An Keng showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 32 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away. Mohd Marzuki Khairul gave Grilled the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 2 - 1 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Grilled had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) gave Aw Keng Chuan a quick hug as he left the field. Darko 'Donnie' Andrović was the new captain of Grilled - handed the armband by the departing player. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. 48 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Chad Thach broke through, making the score 3 - 1 for Grilled. After 58 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Darko 'Donnie' Andrović might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Yılmaz Nevbahar made a spectacular save. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Lim An Keng squirmed through their central defence after 67 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 1. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Chad Thach had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 68 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. Grilled's Lim An Keng saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 78 minutes. Darko 'Donnie' Andrović would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Kendell El Khateeb entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 80 minutes. As Raúl Himadas exited the field, 元気 (Genki) 長野 (Nagano) volunteered to be the new set pieces taker. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.
