Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 15237 at Ballota Stadium today. Walerian Dawczyk was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Edward Schweiger and 雷 (Lei) 雄明 (Xiongming). The match took place on neutral ground. Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors added to their lead 16 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Grilled's Raúl Himadas slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 2. Singapore supporters cheered as good work down the right got the ball to Csaba Báthory-Bozó who reduced the visitors' lead after 26 minutes to 1 - 2. After 28 minutes, Grilled's Chad Thach burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3. 1 - 3 was the halftime score. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

At 59 minutes into the game, Singapore's Csaba Báthory-Bozó deftly knocked the ball home after an impressive run down the left, reducing the visitors' lead to 2 - 3. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Raúl Himadas was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 68 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. Despite hurting his left foot at the 82 minute mark, Lim An Keng decided to keep playing. With 83 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 2 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Raúl Himadas. With 84 minutes played, Manuel Mari was very close to reducing the score for Singapore with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner. Chia Kwang Tse could have put his team up another goal 85 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Parmeet Naik went down after twisting his right ankle in minute 86, but was able to continue the match none the less. It was a fine day for Parmeet Naik on his wing, his cross pass to Roberto Sáenz Hernández was especially delicate 87 minutes into the game, but the keeper saved. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 3 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 2 - 4. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 55 percent of the ball.
