Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 56251 to Aljunied Bridge. Felix Ellebracht was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Theodor Fiebach and Elliot Dawson. The following players had been chosen by Joker: Schimmelpfennig - Cildermanis, Franco, Maceiras - Schumpbach, Yi Da, Satishchandra, Singh, Rehn - Jian Jian, Gopalakrishnan.

The following players took the field for Grilled: Bok - Himadas, 其材 (Qicai) - Reddy, Khairul, Keng Chuan, Thach, Trindade - Kwang Tse, Chitre, An Keng.

Joker 9 entered the field in a 3-5-2 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. Joker decided to play creatively at a titanic level. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+6) level with that tactic. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 15 minutes allowed Gandhik Chitre to score for Grilled. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. After 25 minutes, Tejas Gopalakrishnan made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 1 - 1. 26 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Joker to take the lead after a good cross from the right found Mario Schumpbach alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. Joker broke through on the left 27 minutes into the game, with Tejas Gopalakrishnan firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 2 - 1 lead. Joker put themselves up 3 - 1 when Hans-Ulrich Rehn broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. It was 3 - 1 at the break. Joker had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

Grilled were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 58 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to Mohd Marzuki Khairul, who smashed it home to make the score 3 - 2. Joker solidified their lead at the 64 minute mark, as Vibhav Singh dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 2. Always a threat, Chan 'Jayjay' Jian Jian tore past his marker and placed the ball right at the feet of the waiting Tejas Gopalakrishnan who should have easily scored for Joker, but the ball went wide. Aw Keng Chuan nearly reduced the lead 69 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by Jens-Harald Schimmelpfennig prevented the attempt coming in from the right flank from hitting the back of the net. Vibhav Singh caused mayhem in his own defensive line with some mad dribbles within his own penalty area, but Grilled's Brian 'Was Born' Reddy's shot went just wide. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. With 82 minutes played, Paulino Trindade had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot from the middle flew harmlessly wide of the goal. 83 minutes in, Aw Keng Chuan made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but Jens-Harald Schimmelpfennig refused to let the ball slip by him. As the 85 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Paulino Trindade reluctantly made way for 冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) on the pitch. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 4 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Joker, with 51 percent of the ball.

Tejas Gopalakrishnan performed admirably for Joker. Most important Grilled player was Mohd Marzuki Khairul.
