The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while Freejack Rovers has decided to play a 4-5-1 lineup. Edward Colebrooke's speed was almost enough to give Freejack a goal after 21 minutes, but his nice pass to Rüdiger Straube was not taken care of properly. Grilled solidified their lead at the 23 minute mark, as Aw Keng Chuan dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. Mohsen El Khateeb had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 24 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. Cheers filled the stadium as Chia Kwang Tse broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to Grilled. 60 minutes into the game, Freejack wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Emanuele Anfuso gave José Regidor a quick hug as he left the field. As the 61 minute mark approached, the Freejack coach decided it was time for a substitution. Rüdiger Straube reluctantly made way for Walther Zentai on the pitch. Christ Gerverdinck would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Carlos Gouveia Gomes entered the game for Freejack as the match clock showed 62 minutes. Grilled's Gandhik Chitre had an excellent opportunity after 85 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
