Clear skies welcomed the 2500 spectators who had made their way to
The Cooking Pot.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team
Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while
Freejack Rovers has decided to play a 4-5-1 lineup.
Grilled displayed their
mythical ability to play creatively. After 5 minutes, the home side was awarded a penalty. The visitors protested wildly but the referee was adamant.
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) easily put the ball away to give the lead to
Grilled. 1 - 0 6 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
冬馬 (Toma) 田宮 (Tamiya) broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for
Grilled.
Edward Colebrooke's speed was almost enough to give
Freejack a goal after 21 minutes, but his nice pass to
Rüdiger Straube was not taken care of properly.
Grilled solidified their lead at the 23 minute mark, as
Aw Keng Chuan dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
Mohsen El Khateeb had a fantastic opportunity to put
Grilled up another goal 24 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar.
Grilled put in a good effort on the right, but
Aw Keng Chuan saw his volley fly wide of the mark 26 minutes into the game. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to
Grilled, who controlled the ball 69 percent of the time.
46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a
Grilled substitution.
Dahan Bok came on for
Dimitris Germanakos. Cheers filled the stadium as
Chia Kwang Tse broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to
Grilled. 60 minutes into the game,
Freejack wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Emanuele Anfuso gave
José Regidor a quick hug as he left the field. As the 61 minute mark approached, the
Freejack coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Rüdiger Straube reluctantly made way for
Walther Zentai on the pitch.
Christ Gerverdinck would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Carlos Gouveia Gomes entered the game for
Freejack as the match clock showed 62 minutes. A bit later,
Freejack's
José Regidor easily reduced the lead to 4 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Walther Zentai from
Freejack a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 73 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Lim An Keng squirmed through their central defence after 77 minutes, increasing the lead to 5 - 1.
Grilled's
Gandhik Chitre had an excellent opportunity after 85 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
Mohd Marzuki Khairul could have put
Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 86 minutes. After 89 minutes, the
Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Damian Hutter off the field.

Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match!
Freejack were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 90 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to
Troy Gardiner, who smashed it home to make the score 5 - 2. The match ends 5 - 2.
Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.
