Villains F.C. fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+7) (27) level with that tactic. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
Pierre Laurent, but the Villains player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! After 19 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after
Aw Keng Chuan made it through the middle and struck home to make it 1 - 1. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy from Grilled a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 26 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After a fine move down the middle
Timotej Klarič nearly gave the home side a goal after 32 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. With the clock showing 33 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Grilled resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by
Gandhik Chitre in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. After 37 minutes, Grilled's
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. Grilled had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.
The visitors'
Chia Kwang Tse took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 50 minutes into the match. 1 - 3 for Grilled.
Mohd Marzuki Khairul was, after 62 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
Zvjezdan Ražić made the save. Villains's
Luis Mazo Santolalla made use of his speed to get free of the defence, but he still couldn't get a shot off 75 minutes into the match. After 78 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
Aw Keng Chuan who increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 4. 81 minutes into the game Villains broke through on the left wing and
Pang Soon Kian managed to reduce the lead to 2 - 4. After 84 minutes,
Luis Mazo Santolalla had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Villains with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 1 minute as stoppage time. Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
Hwang Teck Fu would have put Grilled up another goal 89 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. The match ends 2 - 4. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 60 percent of the ball.
Villains's top performer was clearly
Kanagasabai Kumar.
Wong Jian Yew on the other hand, had a terrible day. Grilled's best player was
Mohd Marzuki Khairul. On the other hand,
Raúl Himadas's play was disheartening.
