Grilled Birds entered the field in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, Arcturules, chose to start the game with a 3-5-2 lineup. Klaus Dobschütz was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Arcturules's Ognen Najdoski managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 0 - 1 After 18 minutes of play, Mohd Marzuki Khairul evened things up for Grilled with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1. Ching Lee Chee was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his right knee after 25 minutes. Tay Chao Hao tried to hide a smile as he entered the field. He had not expected to get a chance this day. 27 minutes into the game, Alf Stighult was a hair's breadth away from giving Arcturules the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by Dimitris Germanakos saved the home team that time. Jouko Hyvärinen came close to putting the visiting team one up 28 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but Dimitris Germanakos managed to tip the ball to a corner. Lim An Keng looked like he could fly, as he rose high to head the ball. Unfortunately for Grilled, the ball went just barely wide. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

A mistake by the home side's central defence after 48 minutes allowed Tay Chao Hao to score for Arcturules. The scoreboard now read 1 - 2. Mohd Marzuki Khairul showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 55 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 2 - 2 equaliser away. Alf Stighult was in no condition to play on. He left the field limping after 56 minutes, with his right thigh bandaged. The player that took his place was Choy Chee Da. With 57 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. Maher El Bacha put the ball away for 2 - 3. Lim An Keng always provides an aerial threat at corners, and with 70 minutes gone, he demonstrated this, outjumping his marker, then letting out an anguished howl as his powerful header went narrowly wide. Due to some great work on the right wing Grilled's Chia Kwang Tse was able to even the score after 80 minutes to make the score 3 - 3. After 84 minutes of play, Lim An Keng gave the home team a 4 - 3 lead after an attack coming in from the right. The referee showed Arcturules's Nabeel Jamal the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Aw Keng Chuan gave Damian Hutter a quick hug as he left the field. With Aw Keng Chuan no longer on the pitch, Brian 'Was Born' Reddy took over free kick duty. Gandhik Chitre would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Bilal Mohammad Harun entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 4 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. After 90 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after Maher El Bacha made it through the middle and struck home to make it 4 - 4. The match ends 4 - 4. Grilled had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

Lim An Keng performed admirably for Grilled. Bilal Mohammad Harun turned in a dismal performance, however. Arcturules's top performer was clearly Choy Chee Da. However, Nabeel Jamal made a disastrous appearance.
