Paradiso 3 - 2 Grilled
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 58513 to
Home of the Glory Paradiso.
Carlo Maurizio Momentè was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Oswald Stuerzenbecher and
Tobias Schneider. Paradiso's starters:
Fu -
Bozkan,
Jacobsen -
Escalante,
Duncan,
Yeng Eng,
Kian Yao,
Hermes -
Mohd Raimi,
Chung,
Abdul Fattah.
Grilled's lineup was:
Germanakos -
Keng Chuan,
其材 (Qicai) -
Reddy,
Teck Fu,
Chitre,
Khairul,
Parada -
Thach,
Thoroddsen,
An Keng.
2-5-3 was the choice of the day for both coaches. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+8) (28) ability to attack in the middle. As the 1 minute mark approached, the Paradiso coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Pang Kian Yao reluctantly made way for
Mah Lee Kim on the pitch. After 2 minutes of play,
Idhlan Abdul Fattah gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. 10 minutes in, Grilled's
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The cannonball from 35 metres by
Mah Lee Kim of Paradiso was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net.
Ajwad Mohd Raimi could have put Paradiso up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 16 minutes.
Chad Thach of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. After 34 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after
Gústav Thoroddsen made it through the middle and struck home to make it 1 - 1. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
Paradiso took the lead after 61 minutes as a result of
Mah Lee Kim's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 2 - 1. 64 minutes into the game Grilled's
Gústav Thoroddsen found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 2 - 2. A free kick aimed at the keeper's far post almost gave Grilled the lead 70 minutes in, but the ball just wasn't able to squirm its way through the defensive wall.
Jose Andrés Escalante gave Paradiso the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 3 - 2 After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Gandhik Chitre off the field.
Teo Chuan Yong took his place. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy gave
Paulino Trindade a quick hug as he left the field. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 1 minute. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 3 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 55 percent of the ball.
Paradiso's top performer was clearly
Ajwad Mohd Raimi.
Ang Fu on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Lim An Keng performed admirably for Grilled.
Paulino Trindade turned in a dismal performance, however.
